Around the time of this NOW cover story, Bob Dylan was in Toronto filming Hearts of Fire and came to see us play at the Hotel Isabella where I held down a house gig Thursday to Saturday for 5 years. He stayed for two sets and in the break said: “If you were from Chicago, New York, or Los Angeles, you’d be famous.” Unfortunately, this was before cellphones with cameras, so you’re just going to have to take my word for it.
